Have I got a head for heights? Well, “no” is the honest answer. That said, when I heard that Winstons Wish, the leading childhood bereavement charity, were looking for volunteers to carry out an abseil challenge, I immediately said yes. Why? Well, I was impressed by the enthusiasm of their staff to promote the event and with them being a Cheltenham based charity I thought my signing up may encourage others to do so. What I had not taken stock of was that the building from which the challenge is taking place is quite big. In fact, so big, it was equal in size to an upturned sofa! Not any old sofa though, the worlds longest sofa designed by Anders Nørgaard for BoConcept (168 feet 8 inches, weighs 1.4 tons and has 54 legs). Anyway, I digress… Google is great for finding random facts! To someone who is not keen on heights, it is massive. Eagle Tower, standing at 168ft, allows anyone at its summit to see for miles across the town and beyond into the Cotswolds.
